This is the Town that I had my Form 6 Education & did not visit for > 3 years due to MCO .During my recent 3 Days 2 Nite Trip I am Glad to notice quite a fair bit of changes to this peaceful Town.To name a Few - completion of Sri Aman Waterfront , Taman Panaroma Benak , a number of New Hotels like BME/Viva/Roxy & New Wholesale & Hypermarket like Unaco, Leepapa,Doremart etc & so many New Shops .Other worth visiting sites are Kubu Alice & Mount Hosanna Church.👏👏

Grew up in Sri Aman in the 90s and went to two schools here. The town was formerly known as Simanggang town and renamed to Sri Aman in 1974 after the peaceful signing between the Sarawak government and the Communist in 1973. Simanggang is a peaceful and exciting town. Suitable for family to raise kids as there are good government schools around the town. Over the years since the 2000s, Sri Aman has a new hospital, new fire station, schools, and government buildings. Fort Alice is a famous historical spot in the town and worth visit. A pilgrim church known as Mount Hosanna for the Catholics en route the Pan Borneo to Kuching. The people here are friendly and still maintain the old town vibe. The Iban is the majority tribe here, with the Malays and Chinese living side by side for generations. The Bidayuhs, Orang Ulu and Melanau are also around with migration due to job postings in the government sectors. Likewise those from the peninsular, Sabahan, other divisions of Sarawak. The town has become more vibrant and diverse over the years. You can travel on daytrip from Kuching city or Sibu to Sri Aman. Reachable towns are Engkelili, Lachau, Lubok Antu, and Betong from Sri Aman.

Visit Fort Alice which is now converted into a museum, take a stroll along the waterfront, and eat ayam panggang (bbq chicken) on the roadside stall near KFC
