Great selection and friendly people. No cigars, which was unfortunate. Otherwise for beverages you can’t beat it. Definitely check this place out if you’re saving in Georgetown.

This wine store offers BOTH takeaway retail and drink-in. The entrance leads you to wine and liquor selections retail area. If you want to drink there (only additional 10% service charge on the takeaway price tags), just pick bottles you like and the store assistant will lead you to another airconditioning space which may not be visible from outside. House water is served.

Most of the seatings are bar chair height.
The store does not have its own kitchen but you may ask them for food menu which is being offered by neighboring restaurants and allowed to be consumed inside the store. Choices available are from chinese to western food. You may order food from multiple restaurants at same time.

Wines price is very reasonable and are welcomed by regular locals. Drink-in crowds start in the early afternoon.

I went in and stood at the doorstep for a while, taking out my phone to search for the name of the wine that I had wanted to purchase. Ask the young man with spectacle whether they have it, he said no and full stop. I stood there for a while and I was being ignored completely as he continued to look at his rows and rows of stocks I presume.

I asked him, are you not going to recommend me other wines or something? are you occupied and busy? He wasn't apologetic and said they have another staff at the back and called out to him. I had wanted to push the door to get out but it was locked. I wasn't happy and didn't feel welcomed. I told the both of them that there's something wrong with your attitude and I don't feel welcomed. I asked him to open up the door and I left without looking back.

While the store had an ok selection of alcohol, we bought a bottle of sake here and it was expired (by at least a few months), and it was one of the newer bottles on the rack. They refunded us for the sake but I’d be cautious and check the quality of the products before buying.

While we appreciate the refund, they weren’t particularly apologetic about selling us a product that could’ve made us extremely sick.

The other sakes available there were also well over the year within which you should consume it after checking again. We told the employee that they should probably check to make sure they don’t sell anymore expired products, but they didn’t seem to care very much about removing it off the shelf or checking the production date on the other bottles.

While the hard liquors are probably fine, I’d be cautious about purchasing wine or sake from this retailer.

Pretty handy place to find in Penang. They don’t have a HUGE range, but what there is seems pretty decent and it is priced as fairly as you will get in this country. No wines by the glass - they appear to be strictly retail and wholesale by the bottle. Service was friendly enough and competent as well.

It's ok if they don't have plenty of stocks. But why the silent treatment when the front door is unlocked for one to come in and be ignored.

I had intended to open a bottle and drink in the premises - but looking at the attitude and table - both equally uninviting.
